Pastor Galen joined our staff in January 2022 as Intentional Interim Pastor. For seventeen years prior to his retirement in 2015, he served in this role for a dozen congregations across the country who were in transition. He has specialized training and expertise in building healthy churches. In his years after retirement Pastor Galen was certified as a spiritual director and served extensively in that role with men in drug and alcohol recovery at Guiding Light Recovery in Grand Rapids.
Meet our Staff

Galen Knutson

Polly Standley
Pastor Polly joined our staff in January 2023 as an Interim Associate Pastor. In her 46 years of ordained Lutheran ministry, she has served as a sole pastor, associate pastor, co-pastor, and intentional interim pastor. She is also a board-certified counselor and was a certified teacher.

Kim Owens
Kim joined our staff in May 2022 as Director of Music Ministries. Kim brings to this position a wealth of experience in coordinating and leading worship music, serving in this role here in the past. Kim is also a middle school band instructor for NorthPointe Christian Schools. She brings her vivacious personality to this leadership role working in collaboration with pastors, music staff and lay worship leaders and utilizing the talented musicians and vocalists at St. Luke’s. Kim and her husband, Lance, with their sons Brandon and Chris, are long-time members of St. Luke’s.

Karina Rhodes
After job-sharing the duties of Office Administrator for a few months, Karina stepped into the position full time in August 2022. Her kind and caring disposition and her strong computer and organizational skills are a blessing to our congregation. She and her husband, Chris, and their five children are long-time members and faithful servants at St. Luke’s.

Sarah Elliott
Sarah has taught Faith Formation classes and has led a home church for many years at St. Luke’s. Professionally she has been an administrative assistant in Forest Hills Public Schools. Sarah has been a long-time member and we’re excited to have her on staff.
